The kid got some rims
Well, its been a year, but I FINALLY GOT RIMS. I know it needs to be dropped, and I'm havin 1.5 inches taken off in the spring when I have some more money. The rims are Racing Hart CR Evos in 17x7 with Bridgestone Potenzas in 215/45/17.
The last pic is of my dad's car. I would've had those rims if I could've shelled out the money for a five lug conversion.

I got my rims from wheelmax and got very good service. The shipping was free and the total price for rims was $900 ($220/rim plus $20 for lug nuts.) The tires are from tirerack and were about $135 each. Both companies told me the products would arrive the following monday (ordered rims on sunday, tires on wednesday) the rims got here on thursday, the tires got here on friday. I ordered online from tirerack, but the guy I talked to at wheelmax (Leo) was very nice and efficient. I would recommend both places.
I don't know what color car you have, but if you look at the pics titled rimonly and rimspoke you'll see that there is a part in the center of each spoke that is raised. If you paint the rims, I think it'd look cool to paint the non raised part which would make it look a little like the rims on jettah.

Yeah man. The entire GLI is an awesome car. Yes, I paid $135 for each 215/45/17 tire. But let me assure you, these tires are worth it. I've drives a friend's car with the same size everything except the tires were Kumhos, and there is a world of difference. They were given twice the wear rating by tirerack, and all the other ratings seem to hold true aswell. So I don't think I got hosed or anything with how much I paid.
Very Nice rims 215/45 looks good I got mine like a lil less than 2 weeks ago love them to death. Yeah I got my Kumho 712's for like 86 each, I was originally going to get Yoko Avid H4's but they were sold out oh well.
