Question a little help? i'm new

okay, for the past few years i've been a honda fanatic. i used to drive a 91 accord ex. i just recently bought a 94 civic coupe that the owner claimed was a 99 SI. just looking at the body and engine was enough to know that he was lying. however i was interested in the car and he gave it to me for a great price. now here's the thing. i need help identifying the engine because i've only researched the B-series.

here's a link to the engine.

i kind of want to swap in a B-series, but maybe you guys can give some advice on the current engine. it's definitely JDM. i'm guessing D15 but i don't think its V-tec. help?

On the front of the engine, where the tranny meets the block, it should have a stamp of what it is..

Depending on what trim level your car is, it'll be a D15-- or D16-- engine

Re: a little help? i'm new

looks like a d16z6 to me. Not quite sure why you think it is a "JDM" engine.
Also you will know if it is vtec if it has a vtec solenoid.

see that little square below the upper radiatior hose connection to the block there will be a D_____ number on there thats your engine code a number at the end of the code means US-spec no number is j-spec as far as a vtec head i dont see a solenoid for it but it also isnt the best pic ive ever seen
