man it is incredible, the amount of work and patience and CRAP involved in going turbo. for some reasons its funny when u read all those import magazines and u see these shiny turbo'd cars and they speak nothing of the install like if it was just put on by a wrench, polished, and fired up. its crazy..i have much respect to anybody trying to take on a turbo project ecspecially on a d17. the gains dont even matter to me..i cant even put down someone who doesnt get alot of gains on a boosted d17. its the fact that u would actually take on something liek that and still not give up after, like you said, one thing after another... much respect to you guys +1 for everyone ive seen go the boost route. good luck im always watching this stuff
the work is worth it, and after a while you lie to yourself and ignore the money you spend.. import magazines **** me off sometimes, but like my friends say "sponsors are for poor people." lol. The d17 is actually pretty good, ive driven it with a blown head gasket for over 2 months and the sucker ran strong. It was the turbo that let me down in the end.. but thanks for the kudos. it's when youre in the car and you hear it spool...

wait... you killed it completely? F-in A. I swear our cars are linked by Voodoo.... I pop a HG, you pop one a week later. I destroy a turbo, then you bust one up.
You should feel lucky I built a good strong motor....
VTEC condom???? You gotta be kidding me. It feels much better without the hat.

Hey Edwin, did you install the ES inserts yet? Any problems? I installed mine yesterday and did not enjoy the install. I had shave the rear one a bit to get it to fit. Was a real bitch getting the damn rear one back on as well. Ended up removing that weird balancer weight back there on the subframe to get the whole mount assembly puzzled back in. Probably would have been easier on a lift but I did it at home. What a difference in the ride though! All the vibrations translate to the car now, but smooth shifts and acceleration! Love it!

yea, the rear doesnt fit right for some reason and it's hard to get to. other than that, they're great. it vibes the car like crazy at idle but once you get moving it feels good.

Definitely a more tactile driving experience. Shifts and deceleration as smooth as silk now. I wish I would have put these in months ago.

you saw the picture of my broken motor mount? it's a piece of poly (i think) that fills in the empty space to make it a semi-solid motor mount. they go on the front and rear motor mounts of our cars. and they are usually 20-30 bucks a set.

Yeah man, I had to shave the rear quite a bit to get it fit. Really nice though, even with the vibration!

no, audi RS6, bixenons.
vtec cap was an ebay thing, but made by datum1 i think. and no. i only heat soak in the dead summer heat, in traffic. The SF intercooler/charge pipe setup is actually pretty freakin' efficient for what it is. intake will eventually move over to where the battery is, but for now, it works.

Hey Edwin. What's your valve lash set at? .009 exhaust, .007 intake or did you go tighter?

i set it to the tightest stock lash. It might need to be readjusted though, it's starting to tick a little louder.
