Re: Painted my spare valvecover
On ephatch.com the guys does it for like $50-$60 in any color combo you can think of. Black, White, Wrinkle Red, Gold, you name it. $125+ would be a little much.
Boilermaker, very nice man, i like it alot, it's original and that's what i like. Kinda looks like Freddy Cruger had a part in painting it. lol

good job boiler!
Re: Painted my spare valvecover
it's still a good option...and a lot of times an 18 dollar paint job can wind up costing more than $18.... go check out this forum...

wouldn't want to wind up there. But yeah, if you can do it yourself, go to it. Otherwise, getting one that's going to look professional, have all the threads cleaned out correctly and all the proper spots polished, it could be worth it. Especially to stay off that forum for biggest mistakes....

Re: Painted my spare valvecover
I like mine. I paid $125 for it. I think its worth it, but notice the 'I' in each statement. To each his own, boilermaker did a helluva job painting his VC, and if I was back in the states I would have done the same. Unfortunately England has like two colors (black and silver) of high temp paint and they're both 15 quid ($30) a can - and they don't have clear. So paint em up folks, do whatever blows you hair back. As long as you're happy with the method and the results, the only person who should care about how you got there is you (and in my case, my wife, since I'm not allowed to use the checkbook unsupervised...)

Re: Painted my spare valvecover
poof... I said it was all gonna make sense...

The slight shade difference is because the block hasnt been cured yet... I was kinda iffy about sticking it in the oven and heating it up without a head on it, didnt want it to warp. So I'm gonna let the water jacket cure the paint.
