Here is some videos with RSX-S exhaust...

Note: it's on RSX, not civic... but it gives a good idea (Thanks to ClubRSX!)

Stock 06:
YouTube - 06 RSX Type S stock exhaust

With header (and CAI?):
YouTube - '06 RSX Type S
YouTube - Startup

with race header:
Slow Drive Away
WOT Approach
WOT Tunnel
Part Throttle[/QUOTE]

Exhaust type-R + header

Hope this help!

yeah i know i cant afford a type r one and my axleback is **** now so im going to get rsx-s axleback section to my 2.25 i have now. but i can get a 04 type s axleback muffler. i wanted to know if 05-06 have the larger exit for the muffler. and if its possible to put the 05-06 tip on the 04. cause i know the tip is deff. different but not sure about the output on the muffler itself.

yes it's (05-06 type-s) an overall better muffler and has slightly bigger piping throughout.

I doubt that you will see a difference.

I think 05-06 are still more expensive because people still think that it is the same as the type-R exhaust.

the difference is only in the piping size and the tips:

02-04 around 2" diameter
05-06 around 2.25" diameter (note: the B-pipe is the same as the type-R).

Look in this pic (right= 03 RSX-S exhaust that I almost sold , left= my new 05 RSX-S exhaust that i bought thinking it was as the type-r ). Not a huge difference!

Can you buy just the muffler and extend the pipes? Or do you have to buy the axleback?

^yes you can just buy the muffler and extend the pipes. Thats always a solution. Might as well at see if you can get the axle back since the pipe is already bent the way you need it to.

Re: RSX-S Exhaust?

ok, so let me get this clear....the rsx-s axle back and muffler fits on the EM2 but the muffler tip is approx 6" too short. the solution would be to extend the muffler tip if one doesn't want to reweld the hanger on the muffler?

what's the difference between the rsx midpipe+resonator and the EM2 EX midpipe+resonator?

also, what's the difference between the stock RSX base muffler and the RSX-S one?

dunno. make a descent offer. i won't take lowballs cause i don't want to bother shipping it unless it's for a descent price. otherwise i'll just sell it on the local forum

Re: RSX-S Exhaust?

they will cut off the flange and tip of your rsx muffler. the flange on the 05 type s is larger than 7th gen civics and they cut off the tip to extend it. imo, not worth it to buy brand new from acura if ur gonna chop it up. they cut off and reused the flange from my civic muffler

Add in a resonator. That should fix your problems.

Re: RSX-S Exhaust?

Not sure if you want it to be quiet or not, but it is still a stock exhaust, it suppose to be quiet.

also, if you're swapped, it's not as quiet. Even with my resonator, it's get a bit loud at WOT

well if the exhaust was on a stock rsx, it would be louder than on the civic

Re: RSX-S Exhaust?

i dont like how they welded the extension on for my tip. you can see the tube inside the tip. i think im gonna try and dremel away a bit of the tube. and the rsx exhaust already has double wall, so now there's like 3 walls.
