Rep Power: 255 People flaming on this guy's burnouts just pissed me off for some reason... so here is my rant.
Yea... I like to think of myself as a respectable member on here... as well as one who has owned my 7th gen since it was new in Jan. of 2002 and has yet to get any moving violation in any state. I don't see a problem with having a little auto-related fun as long as it's not done in public (or on private ground that's not yours). The reason we all partake in this sport is to enjoy our cars - whether that be showing them, dragging them, racing them, wiping them with diapers as they sit in our garages or royally beating the snot out of them.
It's our sport to interpret how we'd like. If he wants to makes videos of big smokey burnouts... then fine. Thats what was at the core of the hot rod phenomenon in the 1950s... burnouts. And those hot rods were the start of this wonderful thing we take for granted today... using our cars as a form of individual expression. Anyone who wants to flame because someone did something publicly wreckless - fine. Flaming on his fun because your concept of things differs from someone elses... that is not acceptable.
I may think that your car with 19's and a fully molded kit, $5,000 worth of stereo and a 300hp turbo that wins shows is retarded. I may laugh at your dented car on 16" Rotas and has tape on the headlights - but it wins at Auto-X. But that never gave me the right to hate on you because your idea of what should be done with YOUR car is different than mine.
Respect each other as long as it's done safely and wth consideration to the general public. We are all brothers.
