I've seen some pretty nice/different looking carbon fiber hoods on ebay, that say they are ViS...

Would you buy a carbon fiber hood from Ebay?

NO..........Bad idea. Been there done that. Bought VIS cf hood for about 400 dollars. Very cheap and will fade very easy. Not saying that every single hood is like that but I did not have good luck with it.

i have a VIS hood and it is fine it fits great and the quality is pretty good. same with just about anybody else i have talked to with VIS hoods.

Yes. But did you get your ViS hood from Ebay? Or where did you get it?

What fades? It is the carbon fiber that fades? Or the clear coat? Because I can get the hood re-cleared for $50.

When it comes to eBay and this stuff you’re playing Russian roulette. I have bought some stuff and it is great and other’s it is all messed up and won’t fit. If the fading is a problem you can have an extra coat of clear shot on it and that will fix the problem. But if I had to choose from these hoods because of a budget I would go with the VIS stock (the third one). But that is me. Just remeber check the ratings of the person and check the feed back and see if someone actually says something about the hood, not just great product.
