my second question is do you really think that my car is gonna turn my entire turbo system cherry red on 8 pounds of boost?
thats a nice picture, ive seen many like it. but bench testing a highly boosted motor and my daily driving are 2 different things.
after i got done painting today i went to work and measured the heat on the header with a snap-on laser thermometer (sp?) -and its well under 500 degrees

Rep Power: 261 it will hold up for a while.
You can also get that ceramic coating in a can from autozone. It holds up to 1500* heat. It works really well. You just have to bake it in the over 3 times.

Rep Power: 338 I don't think heat wrapping it would be such a hot idea ... no pun intended.
since the company who originally made the manifolds no longer exist ... they are a pretty hot item ... no pun intended again.

Rep Power: 261 if you wrap it with header wrap, it will break. It causes the steel to heat soak and become brittle. Then the vibrations from the exhaust pulses will vibrate it apart.
And you cannot fix it. It kills the strength in the metal. So even when you weld it back together, it will just do the same exact thing in another spot.

ohh yeah one more question for you, the charge pipes and watnot are red, if i wanted to paint them black, what would be the best route to go, besides getting them powder coated again. (cause they are powder coated in the first place, right?) thanks man!

the only way thats true is if you sand the powder coat and paint, and compare that to painting un prepared raw metal.
