while you have the headlights open you might as well do a retrofit.

you can complete a retrofit in 5 days. buy the parts, have them shipped overnight, install and aim.

BE SURE TO SEAL REALLLLLLY GOOD.

its not that easy. there not exactly the same size, new mounting brackets have to be made, you need to wire it so that the high beams stay on without the hid going out, you need to do alot of cutting.

i dont remember saying that anything would be easy other than connecting the wires. i know that its a difficult thing and in fact thats the only reason i didnt bother puttin it on my projectors. and as for the whole thing of the plastic or glass i thought i remembered mine being plastic, maybe the changed it because my set was made before they put it into productioon... i had them before they were out because a company brought them to ask if we wanted to sell these products and he forgot them there. but either way it would be best to swap those out so that the distance from the bulb to the eye is just right and so that the cut piece in the eye is the same (might be same anyways im not sure) but this way here your not messing with how bmw set it up.

take off screws and wires and bulbs. put it in oven at lowest setting like 200. (doesnt need to be more) for like 10 minutes or even 15 minutes. pull them out and pull the back plastic piece off by lifting the clips all around it and prying back with a screwdriver. be careful u dont scratch the inside. once u can fit ur fingers in u should be able to pry it open really easy if you cant finish with screwdriver if thats too hard put in oven for longer. when you reseal them you can A. just reheat and put back together or B. buy some sealent at home depot and put them back together without heating.
