Tint ***More Questions 11/4***

I have a black 04 coupe & am looking to get tint done. I am in texas and want to keep it legal, so i can only do 25% on the front & rear quarted windows. My question to you all is should I just go 25% all around OR should i do an 18% or 5% on the very back window. Pictures of any of these setups are appreciated. Also has anyone ever used Llumar film? Thanks.

***NEW QUESTIONS 11/04***

I have decided to go 25% all around. So I asked around & found the 2 best tint shops in my area. But there are big diffrences in how they cut & apply the tint.

Shop 1 (Barbaras $140) uses a computer program to cut all the tint. Quality looks good, lifetime warranty, solar guard brand tint. Only down side is because the computer uses preset templates there will be a cutout for the 3rd brake light.

Shop 2 (Scotts $120) is all hand cut tint. The owner said he cuts all his tint just a little large & trims to fit so that it is perfect (no gaps). They microedge(?) all windows that roll down. Also they remove the rear deck & tint all the way down, including over the 3rd brake light. Quality looks good, lifetime warranty, llumar brand tint.

Like I said these are the 2 best in town so quality should be pretty comparable. Which would you choose. Those that have tint thats not over the 3rd brake light, do you see light through that gap, do you wish you would have tinted over it? Please give me opnions!!

I just got mine tinted at Sun Masters in Carrollton, it looks good. I have 35% on the front two doors(which is legal) you can have anything else on the back 3 windows but i got 20%.

You cant really tell a difference between the shades.

5% is real hard to see out of at night

Unless you have great vision in the dark (i can see great in the dark) i wouldnt go 5%. I only went 5% on the rear windshield, 30% front, 20% rear (i have a coupe so im talking abt the small windows) Cant see anything in the rear, and you can see in the front when its daytime. As for night, cant see inside through any windows.

so that the windows won't look like dark plastics on some cheap car

You got lied to, new law is 25% on front for TX. It changed not too long ago & a lot of shops are still trying to get rid of all the 35% they have in stock, so they are still telling people the old laws!

I would most definately go with the shop that does not cut out for the third brake light.
