Question Struts for 2001 Acura 1.7 EL Front Struts - Where and What to Buy

So my struts are failing, AGAIN, on my car. The first time they failed was under warranty when I had driven the car only 30,000km. The second time they had failed was at 90,000km. Now I have 166k on the car and they are starting to fail.

I do not want to buy OEM struts and I am looking for an alternative that would last longer or has a lifetime warranty.

I was at the dealership the other day and the parts guy suggested Koni Yellow. The dealership priced them at $250 each! Dealer OEM struts are $230-260 each depending on the Acura dealer.

Question 1:
What strut should I buy that will give me more than 60k of use and provide a comfortable ride? I am not looking for something that will provide better race handling. I'm more interested in a comfortable ride.

Options

1. Koni Yellow
2. Koni Red
3. Tokico Blue
4. KYB AGX
5. KYB GR2
6. Monroe?
7. Something else?

Question 2:
Where in Toronto can one fine a decent price on struts?

Question 3:
Since the rear struts are OEM and the fronts are failing. If I replace the front with non-OEM components, should I also be replacing the read struts as well?

Thank you in advance for the help!

They also seem to be the most economical option so far. There is a website in the US that seems to sell them for a pretty decent price:
http://www.performancecenter.com/sho...---blue-shocks

In your opinion, should I be replacing all 4 struts or just the front?

Thank you for the help.

Tokico Blues give an OEM-like feel, with a little more stiffness to them. You can put your stock springs on if you don't want the drop. The additional great thing about them is that they provide a lifetime warranty.

I suggest getting all 4 replaced so that all you get a consistent ride.

you should replace all 4 struts,, since your replacing your struts find some decent lowering springs.,,,
