225/40/18 for coupe????
ok i'm lookin to buy 18's but i'm wondering what tire should i get for best look and
protection of my rims......
225/40/18 or 215/35/18

Rep Power: 0 its hard to protect 18's with either tire, but the 40's would work the best, although you'd have to watch out. it might rub if your car is lowered too low

Rep Power: 335 225/40/18 is recommended to be the tire on 18s for normal cars. you can go with a 215/35/18 but it gives you a lil less room for mistakes.

Rep Power: 0 Yea, I would go with the 225/40s for 18" rims. They will keep the new setup closer to size of the stock tires, which won't throw off your odometer much. For 17" wheels, like mine, I got 45 tires instead, which makes it a much closer match to the stock setup. The only downside of 18" wheels though, like Weaponx12o said, have a much greater chance of getting dented if you hit a large bump, due to the smaller tires.

Rep Power: 0 Go for the 215/35-18's. I commute 70 miles round trip on them, and there's been no problems. Keep 'em aired up and watch those curbs. If you buy the 40's, one day you'll pull up to someone the 35's, and you'll say damn, those are sweet.

Rep Power: 279 Go with a 225/35/18. It's a good inbetween tire with as much side wall as a 205/40/17. Just shop around and you will find some, you might have to have them ordered though.. I doubt anyone will stock them, it's an odd size.

Rep Power: 0 215/40/18 most definately I am running 215/45/17 but yeah when I was looking to get my 18's I was going to go 215/40. Yeah I need more tire where I live, even though I would love it if I had the cash for 18's in the summer.

Rep Power: 0 I really don't think 225/40/18 will rub.
I've got 225/35/19 and no problem when the car is on the ground.
When jacked up, a little rub on the inside of the back wheels where
the rear spring is. I got a 3mm wheel spacer and no more rubbing
and that's lowered too. I say go with the 225s.

Rep Power: 0 I just got my falken 215/40-18. I don't like it, it's too narrow.....looks funny. I just talked to the guy from discount tire, he said he will exchange to 225/40-18. I think 225 will look much better. the tires and rims will be flushed.
