V rated tires ??? Any good

I got a shop where I live that is selling some 17"s with rubber for $1099 CDN ... The tires are "V" rated and the company is called Federal ...

1) What's the "V" and are the significantly less quality than Z rated (I just drive normally, no racing etc...)

2) Has anyone heard of this company Federal ??? And are they a reputable company.

"V" versus "Z" is not really a quality difference--Tire manufacturers give their products a maximum speed rating with that letter, and "V" means you can only drive up to a maximum of 149 MPH, so be careful lol.

Federal Tire is a brand put out by the Tayfeng Tire Company of Taiwan. Their company bio says they introduced the Federal brand 15 years ago and made their first 50 series "V" rated tire in 1992. Other than that, don't know nothin.

Anybody else driving around on Federals?

WHich version of the falkens? 512's, 502's, Azenis? The 502 arn't that great. the 512's are a whole lot stickyer then the 502's and the Azenis are almost a race compound tire.
