how effective are wheel locks
just got my car today, freaked out about my rims being jacked. how effective are the wheel locks, they are from honda. should i double the locks(two on each wheel) is there anything else i can do to keep my rims from being stolen? [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG]

Rep Power: 0 Wheel locks are very effective but I would get a set of aftermarket wheel locks instead of the stock ones.

Rep Power: 0 Well I think that having one set of wheel locks is good enough .... like someone said if the person wanted your rims badly enough they gonna get them. I mean stealing rims isnt a quick snag like ... taking a radio or ripping off subs etc ... you have to sit there alot longer ... so if they want'em they gonna get them.

Rep Power: 0 actually wheel locks only deter some thiefs. ever heard of gatorgrip? its used to take off stripped lugs or bolts. it can also form itself to any shape. or they can just hammer a socket onto the lock and torque it off. ur best bet is to get a good alarm with a shock sensor.

Rep Power: 0 I got kinda freaked out a couple of days ago in my shop class when this guy asked our teacher for a hammer and chisel... He lost his wheel lock key and decided to break it off just like that... Whether he got it off, I didn't see. I'll ask him tomorrow. And yes, an alarm w/ shock sensor will definetly help prevent the problem

Rep Power: 0 I have tuner style lugs with wheel locks one on each wheel. Its about all you can do but yeah if my rims ever got stolen I wouldn't buy another set its a civic and I got better gas mileage on stock hubbies. 
But yeah I would be more worried if I had a Escalade with some big old 26" bling blings like I see in Phoenix.

Rep Power: 0 Well my aftermarket rims came standard with Gorilla Tuner Style lugs, you have to insert the key into the lug to get it off, my gorilla wheel locks are another sort of key you need to get the wheel locks off. Gorilla When I bought my rims they required the purchase of tuner style lugs, but yeah those wheel locks are good too.
