Parking Brake Problem?
2003 ACURA EL with rear disc brakes
Last week had to stop as right rear wheel was smoking after a noise (like a ping or spring). Stopped immediately and wheel was smoking. Continued on to shop and made an appt.
They looked it over and found nothing wrong. Told them to specifically check the parking brake mechanisms as I had suspected something gave way and caused the issue. Not sure if they actually did - I usually have great service from them.
Over the weekend I removed cover to parking brake lever and cables and found the right rear cable to be looser than the left. Not by much but the left cable is the one that is engaging the most.
Does this indicate a parking brake problem at the right rear? Removing the wheel is not an option for me personally.
