Rep Power: 0 bench bleeding clutch master 2002 ex
ok.....i installed new clutch i got a new master and slave cylinder im going to be using the bleeder pump from harbor freight but as far as installing the master clutch cylinder is there anything particular i need to do? must i bench bleed? and if so how exactly should i do that? also........ is the clutch fork always loose and floppy without the slave cylinder installed? it feels very loose and wobbly... i imagine that normal without the slave cylinder holding the tension on it? i really dont wanna pull it back out as it a PITA pulling tranny from the top.

Surely you experimented with how the throwout bearing and its fork work while you were changing the TO bearing?

I'm not sure if this is 100% Honda correct but I
-Installed clutch master
-installed slave
-installed lines
-bled slave (I never bled the master on a bench before install).
-adjusted master travel distance.
-to bleed the slave
-fill the res to full
-place a wrench on the bleeder
-place a hose (clear is best) on the bleeder nipple
-get a friend to pump the clutch 2 - 5 times (you yell "pump")
-get your friend to slowly press the clutch pedal down (you yell "hold")
- crack open the bleeder with the hose installed; make sure to close it before your friend hits the bottom of the clutch travel.
- repeat and fill res. until there are no bubbles in the line.
-should take 5 minutes or less.
-to adjust the clutch master travel distance
-remove the lock pin from the back of the clutch pedal connection to the clutch master
-spin the clutch master piston cloak wise or counter cloak wise until it sits where you want.
