front wheel bearings

I know the recommendation is to go with OEM but I can get Timken for $ 59 no shipping and quick. Is that OK or Honda all the way, on the internet I've read they're made from recycled Samurai swords ;-)

Re: front wheel bearings

I have National bearings in the front end of my civic. They seem to be holding up pretty good. They are considered slightly better or equal to Timken. I prefer National because they are made in the USA though so if you can find em get them, if not Timken is second best in the aftermarket world. OEM being top notch of course.

Good choice, i work in a shop and we use timken Bearings and never have problems, especially compared to the carquest bearings we used to use that would would go bad in a few months on 1 out of every 4 cars we did

Re: front wheel bearings

passenger side bad, previous owner drilled a hole in the steel shield in an attempt to add grease. Why would some one take it apart that far and not replace the bearing? Rides much quieter now.

Re: front wheel bearings

Great. If it's made in Japan it's probably really good
