Rep Power: 0 Maximum Tire Size?
I have a 2002 Civic Lx with stock suspension with 205/45's on a 17 inch rim right now. The tires need to be replaced and the guy at the Discount Tire shop here locally said that I could go with 225/45's as the biggest size tire that would fit. I've been checking around and reading other forums/posts and have been gathering mixed opinions/comments as to the biggest tire that would work.
Does anyone have any experience with their own Civic's with a similar issue, or any knowledgeable tire guys out there that could shed any light on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I would also check the miata tire calculator just to make sure you are not off in tire size by much, otherwise your mph and mileage may be out of wack.

The largest size you can fit is 215/45/17 without fender work, a tire that size won't benefit you any way unless you're swapped or boosted.
