Rep Power: 0 Most likely you will rub, I would go with a 215/40-18, its a little narrower and has the 40 series sidewall. VnLilMan has that size on his Civic as well as many other members.

Rep Power: 392 ya with 225-40 there's a good chance you'll rub. i had 215-40-18s with a 2.25" drop and didnt rub. i know a lot of people who bent rims with 215-35-18 but not many people have with 215-40s.

Rep Power: 311 225/40/18's WILL NOT RUB. I have had 18"s on 225/40/18 Nankang NS-II for a year and my car is lowered (and even sagging) and I have not once experienced my tires rubbing against anything. The only time where "i think it may have rubbed slightly" is when I didn't see a big *** speed table and hit it going 15 mph or so and heard a loud boom, other than that poeple always ask me if my tires rub and i say I don;t know cause I don;t even know what that's like.
I hope that dispells any myth.

Rep Power: 392 the loud boom is called bottoming out...
rubbing is when your tires rub against the fender.
how low was your car? one of my friends had 225-40-18 with stock suspension and he would rub from time to time.

To add to the myth, I just got some 225/40/18 yokahama es100 and **** was rubbin like crazy!!
1. had to go negative on my camber 1.3 degrees ( due to rubbing on fender with perfect camber)
2. had to have fenders rolled
3. Had to get an alignment after i ajusted my camber
I do ammit with a negative camber and 225's cornering feels much more stable.

Also you can get 225/40/18 tires cheaper than 215/40/18 for some reason...maybe because 215/40 are a rare size...

/ \ , they will fit, but he did say he is going to correct the camber, You cannot have perfect camber with 225's, best i could get was 1.3 degrees negative without rubbing.

Rep Power: 310 I have 225/40 tires also but no drop. I'm scared to drop because of rubbing. It looks like 1" will be a good drop, but on the roads I travel I'm bound to rub and destroy my fenders and quarter panel
