? on rubbing w/ "18 RH c2 evo's on 225/40/18

hello. well i did it again.... i bent another rim and also blew my tire this time. right now im dropped(1/2" finger gap between fender) on some 18" racing hart c2 evo's wrapped w/ 215/35/18. both times i bent the rims, the rim bent were the rear ones. i guess i can blame the super negative camber in the rear(common w/ 7th gens) as well as the 35 series tires.

well im planning to change the rear tires to 225/40/18 since they are the same price as the 215/35/18. my question is: WILL 225/40/18 TIRES MOUNTED ON 18" RH EVOS RUB AGAINST THE REAR FENDER ??? any feedback with people running 225/40/18 on racing harts would help. please include what kind of wheels and the width...

or should i spend the extra couple of bucks and get 215/40/18. i know...i know...i should get the rear spc camber arms. but i know for a fact that i will have to grind off the rear fenders if i get the camber kit in the rear and want to fix the camber once and for all.... as of right now i want to keep my fenders untouched and wanted to know if i can get away with just getting fatter tires to protect the rims! thanks in advance for your posts!

Hey, i have 215/35/18 tires, and never had a problem with rubbing or anything like that your saying, by getting the camber kit your tires will not wear uneven and you'll save them in the long wrong, I don't think you'll need to roll your fenders either, as you can see people with 19's and 2.25 and 3" drops never have a problem. My advice would definatly get the camber kit, it will help things out trust me.

boombazookajoe: glad to hear you survived the hurricane..wish my bro was as lucky (he lived in N.O off canal st.)..you running those as fatbacks or do you have that all around?

to respond to the original thread Q.... Get tires that have a rim flange on them like f1-gsd3's from goodyear (bead has like a sheath comes out from it to cover rim lip when it is mounted on rim so that rim lip never gets touched)

thanks guys. i will probably try 225/40/18 for the rear once i get the rim fixed. damn pothole! lets say i do start running 225/40/18 on the rear and later get a spc camber kit, would there be a limit on adjusting to positive camber before i start rubbing. the more positive camber, the more it will bring the tire closer to rubbing on the fender, RIGHT???? thanks

Check the offset on the wheels... that makes a huge difference. If you still have problems lift your car up.
