Yeah, but a higher speed rating in some cases = more money for the tire.

I find it interesting that tire companies will give a higher speed rating to a low profile 15 inch tire (if the speed ratings slightly vary for it)... or even raise the price.

For instance, the Potenza S-03s... the 205/55s cost less than the 205/50... why?

I went to get some tires yesterday for my SI rims... the man at the shop told me that 205/55-15 would be too wide and rub on the inside of the fenders because my car is dropped. I wound up getting 185/65-15 Firestone's. The look pretty good though. The ride is a little better than when I had the other tires 195/55-15. Besides, those were very very worn out and the threads were sticking out all the way. Anyway, eventually I wanted to get 185/60-15, or maybe the 205/55-15.. I am not sure yet.

205 would not rub. 215, sure. That's rubbish. Especially if you're REALLY lowered... and if you don't have camber issues then you must already have the camber kit to fix it if it became an issue.

185-65-15 is the stock OEM size you know. It's going to offer the best ride because the tire is so... fat.

Glad you're satisfied regardless.
