Grinding Sound Under My Brake Pedal

Hello All.
I drive a 2000 Manual Tranny Honda Civic. About 2 days ago, I noticed this irritating Grinding sound right under my brake pedal whenever I attempt to bring the car to a complete stop. I visited the Mechanic today and he told me to change the hind wheels rotors( Disc) and their brake pads. Is it a possible cause of the grinding sound? Please I need your responses. Thanks and God Bless You All!!!

brakes are made to make noise when they are approaching the end of life to warn the driver he needs to change them

Rear would be drums and shoes, sure they can cause noise. If you don't trust the mechanic bring it to a different one

Hello there...
I just did. The mechanic is changing the brake disc and pads. Hopefully it solves that grinding sound on the brake pedal. Will give feedback soon. Thanks

Re: Grinding Sound Under My Brake Pedal

Hello Everyone
After changing...
1: Rotor
2: Brake Pads
3: Servo
4: Master Brake Cylinder
The Problem persisted.
Someone just guess a failed ABS, I took out the ABS socket thereby disabling the cars ABS system and Viola!! No More Grinding Noise.
I am so exhausted right now. But at least the grinding sound is gone till I get another ABS for the car.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
