trunk noises

when i close my doors or close the trunk while the windows are all rolled up, I hear a flapping-like noise coming from the trunk....

does this happen to anyone else?

what is that flapping sound?

i think it's caused by air escaping from somewhere in the trunk but it sounds like something flapping....

I'd like to find out what's causing that sound but so far am not able to trace it down to anything specific...

my car is a 02 coupe....

Might be that fibreboard underneath the mat, it's just a loose board to cover the spare...

best thing is take some time and make sure everything in tht trunk is bolted and attached.. trunk rattles adjust those rubber snubbers on each corner of the lid, by turning them.. thump sound.. tighten the spare, tape all those loose wires down

i hear the same noise with my car. it's not the trunk lid--it's some valve near in the rear bumper area that causes it. i don't know how to get rid of the sound, though.

I have the same noise. I think that all our cars do. I remember this same post months ago, and someone said it was caused from some sort of valve or air piping...I can't recall exactly, but it's nothing to worry about.

yup, it's caused by a valve thingy at the trunk of the car....it's a rectangular rubber flap located by the left side bumper area

i saw it for myself at the bodyshop today....

i saw it on a 6th gen civic and it made the exact same noise when it flapped...
