Gas Mileage with intake and exhaust. HELP!!!

I noticed that with both an intake and exhaust, my gas mileage has gone down. I used to run over 300 with stock on a full tank. Now i cant even do 250. Do I need maintenence on my car or is it just a result from the intake and exhaust?

i noticed that too after those mods...dont worry about it too much...its normal...i think it's cus your driving a bit faster (so you can hear your intake or exhaust) that your burning up more gas than when your car didnt have those mods....catch my drift??

well, how long have u had the intake and exhaust on? if u didn't reset ur ecu then it has adjust itself to the more are getting in the engine, and it may be sending a lot of fuel to compensate. but after a little bit of this it should be fine

(i'm not 100% sure on this, just seems logical to me)

With intake u're probably taking in more air also at a time and burning more fuel.

um intake and exaust= more air going in the throttle which equals more fuel to burn

You shouldn't have seen that much of a difference. You are either driving the hay out of the car or the ecu has not compensated for the increased airflow yet. Give it a few hundred miles and if it doesn't go back to normal with you driving like a normal person, something is wrong.

I have i/h/e and average 33.6 mpg....5sp ex sedan

My gas mileage went from 33.4 to 35.1 when I put the CAI in ... I don't have exhaust yet, which may take away that advantage. I put 9.727 gal. in my car today after 343 miles.

I have a CAI and exhaust and still 32MPG EX M/T 2DR. The same MPG as before and I drive my car a lot harder. I believe these mods increase MPG after your ECU resets. Keep in mind everyone that we still have the stock CAT.
