Do not use advance auto blue oilpan gasket!!

Just a quick note. Doing my son's 2003 civic oilpan gasket for the 4th time (don't ask): that blue poly stuff advanceauto gaskets are made of is total crap. first time with that, it squeezed out and tore when torqued properly. so next time i went easy and hand tightened. leaked like a sieve and portions of the blue sht wriggled out.

4th time with Honda gasket, no problem. nice solid tighten down, and no squeeze out when torqueing.

Wow. huge difference.

OEM gaskets are always recommended but it's great hearing first hand experience in support of it! Thanks.

Somethings are ok to go aftermarket but it seems like that list is getting smaller.
