P1259 vtec really sucks

I got fresh oil, switched 2 solenoids and 2 vtec oil sensors and 2 vtec housings... still get p1259... only other thing could be fuel pressure? So either the fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump could have low pressure?... the vtec wire is cut and twisted on the harness side.

Nope. Fuel is unrelated to anything vtec.
Fuel problems would give you very different symptoms and codes.

that's strange because the service manual says absent low oil...good sensor and good solenoid could be low fuel pressure.

VTEC needs to monitor high pressure oil being present when selenoid is closed and no high pressure oil moments after signal is sent to selenoid to open.

This is completely different circuit than the low level oil sender.

Honda engineers are pretty smart and I have no doubt they also built in other safety features.

That should read "could be low OIL pressure".
But is it?

There are many different possible causes for the vtec code.

Do you understand how the valve is suoopsed to work, and what the computer has to see in order to stay happy?

Got FF data? What rpm was it when the code set?

What all work has heen done to your engine recrntly, again? Refresh my memory.

when put the intake back on I'll check live data to see what rpm it comes on at..I wanna say 4500...

I don't care what RPM the vtec turns on at.
I want to know what the RPM was when the fault code set . THAT is what Freeze Frame data is for.

If you have live data, does it show VTEC on/off?
Does it also show the vtec pressure switch on/off?

My live data isn't showing vtec stuff..

I got it all together. .is there a way to check if it's good? I reved it up to 5500 rpm and the light never came on.

It won't turn on vtec without a VSS input. That means you have to be driving, or have the front wheels off the ground to it can be in gear with wheels spinning.

I might assume it must have set the code at high rpm when vtec would have been activated?

I have used test lights and voltmeters to monitor the vtec command and response .

Did you have the cylinder head off this engine just before the vtec code came up?
