Rep Power: 0 Airbag light 2 weeks after dealership replaces airbag
My car was on recall for passenger and driver airbags so I finally brought it in about 3 weeks ago. They checked both and only had to replace passenger airbag. About a week later my airbag light is on and I went back. They want to charge me $150 for a diagnostic. They told me that its probably just a coincidence and that it very well could be something else. I told them that I find it hard not to connect the two events considering the light has never been on.
Is this fair? How do I twist their arm?

I would tell them I'll gladly pay if it is a separate issue, but I will not be paying if it is related to the work they performed.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Retrieve the airbag code yourself. What is it?

I was very successful when my SRS light kicked in fully taking apart the seatbelt buckle and cleaning out the micro switch with electrical contact cleaner. If that’s the code you get, before you buy a new try that out first.
