Repairing Spark Plug Threads

Question:

Currently Rebuilding a Honda D17A2 from the ground up due to multiple issues found shortly after purchasing it used. 2001 Honda Civic EX 185,XXX miles. During the process of disassembly, I noticed that the spark plug for cylinder #3 had been cross threaded. Due to this i opted to install Time-Serts in all 4 cylinders. (Figured i have the head off anyways, might as well.) Due to the inability to remove the spark plug tubes, i had to do all of this work blind through the tubes. Only issue i ran into was that i believe i may have not cut the counter-bore relief deep enough causing the spark plug depth to be slightly less into the combustion chamber.

Any thoughts to if this may cause any issues in function?

Would like to know if i need to go through the process of removing and replacing the serts before I re-assemble and put the motor back in the car.

Slightly is not going to make any difference in running.

Are you sure you screwed inserts in all the way?

"Slumpertcivic: Slightly is not going to make any difference in running."

Ok, i believe that the only offset would be the thickness of the shoulder at the top of the sert.. not sure of its exact thickness.

I would say there is always a possibility that i did not, however, with the little visibility and access to the area, I do believe that i have them seated all the way down on the shoulder.
