I watched the belt and cam gear both move. Only had to rotate it maybe half turn if that

Re: Overflow tank full

Everything got dissembled and head is at the machine shop. There is some warpage on the intake side of the head so they are repairing this as I type this. will be replacing the water pump and tensioner today and hopefully head is done soon. For everyone having a hard time removing the crank pulley, I suggest investing in the Milwaukee m18 impact gun. Mine has a reverse trq of 1400ft-trq and made that removal a breeze without the need for the honda tool to even hold the pulley

Paid 200 bucks for it. I have the entire m18 set so it was bare tool only. I do hvac mechanical work so replacing seals and pumps on high rise buildings it always comes in handy with those old rusty bolts

Re: Overflow tank full

Rather than writing miles and date on the timing belt (where it will never be seen AND wear away the writing), write it on the upper timing cover where it can be seen clearly and easily......I use paint, touch up or paint pen

Re: Overflow tank full

50 mile update is good. Car started up on the first try, idled smooth for the 2 min I let it idle. Bled the coolant and all. Noticed the car runs alot smoother after the headgasket got changed.no cels or anything came on.will see how the coolant overflow looks after a few days. Thank you all who contributed and gave me advice.

Heat is delayed and overflow tank is fills up. Also the inside of the overflow coolant tank has a blackish tint to the coolant. Looks like we will be doing another headgasket replacement smh!

Re: Overflow tank full

It’s a very rare day when someone sells a perfectly good 6+ year old car.

Besides taking the intake off “which I don’t think ever gets easier”, you will find every other part of the repair a lot simpler now that you have done it once already.

Yea that's my thought as well.only real problem with this civic is it has alot more rust then my old one and I have a feeling it might give me issues especially the exhaust manifold bolts.on the bright side they are infront so alot easier to actually see them 😅
