2003 civic repaired won't rev past 2k rpm

Hi everyone hoping some one can give me an idea here of how to solve my issue .
we replaced the clutch and while doing so battery was unhooked and charged .

everything is back together now and the car starts and idles immediately .
put my foot on the clutch put in first rev to go forward it won't rev past 2500 and I here a clicking noise sounding like
its from the glovebox area and its like an engine cutout ignition .
the car won't move and will stall if I keep letting the clutch out as the revs aren't there to move it .

any ideas ? I'm thinking ground all checked ..
loose alternator
battery terminals
I'm lost

Thanks Pete

These symptoms always come up after someone forgets to tighten all of the alternator mounting bolts, and bad grounds can make the same things happen.

Lost grounds or forgotten/loose ground cable for the trans case?
Ground at the upper water neck? small grounds right next to that cable?
Loose alternator bolts?

Fix it before it destroys the PCM...that's not cheap.

Well just as suspected it was a few grounds one on alternator the other was on stat housing .
my son installed the clutch in shop class and missed a few bolts being tightened .
i diagnosed it by accident when I pushed down on air box the car turned off .
lifted the box off found loose bolts / nuts and started it that also cleared the code the scanner read .

drove today for a few hours and purrs like kitten ,

thanks for for the ideas

Good to hear it
What code(s) did the scanner read?

my son installed the clutch in shop class and missed a few bolts being tightened .
This shop class would seem to be missing something critical to successful repair, business, and career.

Yes - my son didn't believe me .I also assumed the teacher would go over everything .
after that I asked did he check and tourq each of the bolts on clutch install and for everything else .
i then said great job son that's ok your learning and there is a lot to put back together .

code P1106 which relates to ecu .
