Question where is the crank shaft sensor location on a 1.7 cdti 2005 mk7?

Hi guys my sisters car seems to be having a fuel problem where it seems to be running out of diesel even though plenty is in the tank!

i have change fuel filter, put on a primer beside it.

when i pump it it goes hard, though after its running it goes soft, when the enginge cuts out you need to fill the filter back up with fuel before it starts again (yes primer right way)

had a small code reader on it and it came up with the crank sensor code.

im guessing the sensor is faulty and not giving the signal to prime the fuel pump?

how easy is it to replace the crank sensor? i see a sensor on top of the engine bay driver side, i guess thats the cam sensor?

can anybody tell me how to replace this? guides for diesel cars are hard to find!

regards, Charles

We don't get Hondas diesels over on our side of the pond (North America)

The sensor style you pictured in the most recent post looks like the type that pokes through the engine block or oil pan up to the red O ring. The large round end of the sensor and the wire would be exposed (might be shielded by a tin cover), the wire connector clipped or anchored in a bracket of some sort.

Crawl under and check the back of the block?
