Rep Power: 0 02 Honda Civic popping noise when turning right
I just bought my 02 Honda Civic Ex a few months ago. When I turn sharp right there is a loud popping sound. It only pops one time. I was thinking it was a CV axle. I put the car up on jackstands today, and crawled under and looked at the CV boots, they look fine, no rips or tears. While both front tires were off the ground, I turned the tires forward and backwards, it felt like there was alot of slop from the axles to transmission. Is this normal? Do I need to replace both axels?

CV axles sometimes don't show exterior signs of wear though. That's what happened in my case. No torn boots. The joints themselves were done from just old age. But either way, check all that you can. I think with 7th gens, a lot of them have issues with CABs, like lazlong was talking about.
