I have a 2000 civic LX and it is blowing coolant into the overflow tank. Not allot, but about 6oz. in an hour commute. I thought it was overheating, but now I don’t think so. I was concerned since the cooling fan was not kicking on so I bypassed the limit switch by placing a jumper in the socket. But even with the fan running full time it’s still blowing coolant out. I’ve got an instant read IR thermometer and I can’t get a reading higher than 170 anywhere on the radiator or outlet manifold. I was wondering if it could be a blown head gasket and some of the compression is pressurizing the cooling system. Anyone ever seen this?

Yes. Been there, done that several times, own the t-shirt design. It's your headgasket.

Been there 2. It's the headgasket, air is bypassing it into the cooling system. and it builds more pressure and pushes coolant into the res. After enough air gets in the cooling system you may get cold air from the heater at lower RPMs and possibly misreadings on the temp gauge. Open the radiator cap (when cooler) and see if you smell any gas or exhaust smell. You may even see a little minor amount of oil residue floating on the top of all the coolant. Just somethings to look for.
