Look What Happen To My Car This Morning
Just so everyone knows an automobile policy will only cover stereo equipment in the stock locations unless you purchase additional coverage. The extra endorsment is called "excessive sound reproducing equipment", its pretty cheap, but it wont cover things like the PS2 and so on. When you take your car to your insurance agency, im guessing that you have home insurance with him as well. In this particular case the things that arent in stock locations like the PS2 and games are considered personal property and would be covered under home insurance. Its not unusual for companies to make you pay 2 deductibles and charge both polcies with claims. Hope it all works out for you.
I called my insurance company to tell them I installed a $1000 stereo and wanted a new quote for my insurance. He told me it wouldn't change, they'd just note it so it's covered too.

I would seriously doubt that would be covered. It isnt in a stock place because your car doesnt have a vafc2 on it from the factory. Also a car is not covered if any damage occurs during any sort of organized racing.

Its possible depending on the company. Many companies offer multiple endorsments in order to cover things like this. But on the flip side some companies don't offer them in an effort to deter street racers from insuring with them. It may be something you would have to shop around for, but many companies will offer customization coverage, sometimes it can get expensive though.
well i had my car broken into before I left to iraq... i had my system... minidv camera and cd's stolen
car insurance, nor home insurance said they would cover my cd's or cameras loss, because of it being a personal belonging and not being part of the car and bolted down. If your system isnt/wasnt bolted down they wont cover it either.

In that case your home insurance screwed you over. Under insurance law personal property is covered no matter where it is in the world, so they should have covered your cd's and camera minus your deductible.

Ok, well I don't have home insurance with them, because I don't own a home. LOL I live in an apartment. Anyway, my insurance is Geico, and it seems that are pretty good so far. Anyway, I should be receiveing my check soon, and replacing all these dayum pieces missing and fixing other things. It really sucks to have to go through this ****, just because of people being jealous or whatever. Another thing, thanks for all your feedback, and being able to talk to you all. I already had my window fixed yesterday, and when I get the check I will have to do everything else. I did find the piece that has the AC controls in my neighbors yard, and my uncle found the double din down the block from my house, dayum f*ckers. Thanks again guys.
Hey, no offense, but that kinda looks like how my car was before I had everything fixed. I have a 2001 DX coupe, and the exact same thing happened to it. Somebody broke in and stole the entire center console, along with the 4 tennis rackets that my cousin had in the car (it was my cousin's car before I got it). Somebody also threw a bottle at his car and broke his right rear window (just like yours). The entire car was a mess. I think the only reason why they didn't steal the entire damn car was because it's a stick.
It sucks to have stuff like this happen. I'd be pretty f*cking pissed if that happened to my car. If I saw who did it, and if they decided to come around again, I'd probably borrow my friend's rifle or something.
I have an expensive-looking (it's not... only $120) stereo system installed in my car now, but I remove the faceplate when I get out of the car. I'm way too paranoid. Yes, I have an alarm (an obnoxious one at that), but it's not much without power locks. I also have a kill switch installed (I don't know who installed it, but I found it yesterday night by accident), so that should be some reassurance.
Good thing your insurance is covering everything. If that kind of stuff happened to me, I'd be left to fend for myself. All I have is liability insurance (I got the car for free, so there's no real loss).
