My A/C is out of service so i went to firestone. got a print out of whats wrong. I need a new Compressor & clutch and filter drier. My question is it safe to buy used parts? or should i pay firestone $729.17 for compressor and clutch also 159.15 for filter drier? Thanks

I see firestone is making a nice profit. Cant blame them though. its how shops make money.

Anyway, a brand new compressor through www.hondaautomotiveparts.com is about $370 and a reciever/drier is about $60. All for less then $500. I say either buy the parts from the dealer and take it back to them for them to install ori go to another shop. Firestone has always been known to be very expensive.

just have them take the broken one off and throw it away. unless you really need it i would say its not worth fixing.

warranty on new parts and labor. this is where your money should go. on something like an a/c compressor or any part of the a/c system, you should buy the parts from the people who install them b/c, they are the ones who fix it if something goes wrong. also, a/c work isn't backyard work either. you have to be legally certified to do work like this legally.
