Rep Power: 0 Gas pedal feedback? Anybody else notice it?
Most likely I'm crazy, but I would swear that the gas pedal in my 2001 EX automatic has some sort of pressure feedback. When the car is off, you can VERY easily press the pedal all the way to the floor. When you first start off from a stop, you can also very easily, and gently floor the pedal. But once you're going, say cruising at 35mph, then you want to go a bit faster - pressing the pedal becomes much more of a chore. It is HARD to press. My wife swears she has it to the floor sometimes when she's hardly using any gas. It seems to be that if the trans feels it would have to shift to offer any more power, the pedal makes it harder to get that extra gas.
Does anybody else experience this, or am I truly crazy as I suspect? Just pay attention to how much pressure it takes to press the gas (I'm not talking about just stopmping on it to the floor, 'cause then you can't really tell how hard you have to press it). Before you start off next time, see how easy it is to press the pedal before you even start the car.
Any input is good input (well, almost).
My 2001 Volvo did this, but not to this extreme.

Surely you jest. It has been to the dealer twice. And like with all my issues (rattles, transmission, seat rocking, pedal pressure) it is "normal - goodbye."
Before I go back, I want to hear from others to see if I'm the only one that notices this. If I am, then I've got to drive another Civic to determine if I'm crazy, or my car is truly special.

Rep Power: 0 Gosh, it's starting to sound more and more like I'm crazy
Seriously though, I just got back from testing it again, and in some situations, that pedal is a real B*tch to press. I sure wish I had a local dealer that would actually look into things for me instead of just always telling me "that's normal." If it's so damn normal, why doesn't anybody else notice it in their cars ???

Rep Power: 0 Its going to be a little harder to press when your going rather then when the car is off and such. However you sohuldent have to put a large amount of force on it...

Rep Power: 0 Have you ever gotten anywhere with them? I've called that number before and all they tell me to do is to take the car to my nearest dealer.

Rep Power: 0 Well, although the dealer never did notice a problem, they took the gas pedal and throttle cable out, cleaned and lubed it and put it all back together. FIXED.

Rep Power: 0 This problem was actually about the gas pedal being stiff at various times. The brake pedal drop is a different animal. Mine happens with or without the AC. Dealer says it's normal.

Rep Power: 0 brake pedal drop: My service manager says it is just what it seems - variation in vacuum. The AC can cause it, but so can many other devices that use vacuum on the car. The problem has all but gone away on my car for whatever reason.
