Warranty Covered????

I've been having some problems with my Civic "03 recently. Since I dont know too much about cars I'm asking you guys. When I shift (manual) to reverse it doesnt always get into gear. I have to try several times going back into neutral and reverse again. Also when I brake I can hear grinding noises coming from the front wheels. What I was wondering is if these two things are convered under warranty. (I did purchase the extended warranty) Any help is appreciated. Thx~!

Put it in 4th, then go to reverse. I don't know why it works, but it does. I don't think its a problem, I just don't think there's a synchro on reverse. My guess is 4th gear some how lines up reverse, because it works every time.
