My girlfriends Neon...
She owns a 98 Neon, and when she came to pick me up today I noticed a weird sound coming possibly from the wheels. From the inside it sounds sorta like jingle bells, and the frequency increases with speed. From the outside as she pulled away, it sounds like a squeaking/grinding sound.
Now I thought it might be the brakes or maybe even the belt. The sound doesn't occur when she stops or first starts, it makes the sound the whole time the car is in motion. My friend thinks it might be the wheel bearing, but I thought I'd ask on here.
So does anyone know what it might be?

My friend's car did that and it turned out the brakes were dead. It made the noise all the time while driving. Later they told us if we kept driving it would have locked the wheel. So get it checked asap.
