Rep Power: 0 2009 Civic oil pan replaced, no oil --now wont start
On Christmas Eve, 2018, I hit a big rock in my 2009 Honda Civic 1.8L manual transmission, and smashed a huge hole in my oil pan. I was in a very remote area in Northern CA, with no cell service. I immediately pulled over, and saw the hole, and oil leaking out. In order to get to cell service area, I jumped back in and drove about 10 miles down the road until I found a turn out with cell phone service. it ran OK, and there was no smoke, and it didn't overheat until I found a safe pullout. I then shut the car off, and called for a tow back to my home about 70 miles away. The car sat for about 4 months. I just replaced the oil pan, changed the oil filter, and refilled with good synthetic 10W-30 oil. When I replaced the oil pan, I didn't see any damage to the crankshaft, or metal flakes in the bottom of the old pan. Now that the oil pan is replaced, I've recharged the battery, and turned the motor over by manually turning the flywheel. However, when I start it, the car wont start, and it is not firing. I don't get any OBDII codes, and I'm not sure why it wont fire up. The engine cranks over, it has fuel, but no cylinders are firing. What type of damage could have occurred by driving it for 10 miles with no oil, so that now the engine wont fire? Could it be a camshaft, or valve issue? Any advise would be appreciated to diagnose the engine igntion issue from lack of oil. Thanks
