06 engine knocking, quit and won't run

06 engine knocking, quit and won't run I have a 06 honda civic coupe. Today I noticed a knocking sound so I drove it to a mechanic's station. It died as I pulled in. They looked and checked the oil. It was low. They added some and it would start but not stay running. It was smoking and very hot.
They said it looked like it could possibly be my ac compressor or a bearing in my water pump but they were just guessing because it was too hot to look at. They suggested that i have it towed to a dealer. I did. They are closed until tomorrow.
Does anyone have any insight on what might be wrong? Is my engine blown? If so, how much can I expect to pay for something like this?
