I have a 2018 Civic EX Hatchback. I am still new to tuning cars so I don't really know a whole lot but I am here to learn. I want to get the Ktuner tune but I just had some questions about the factory warranty. I understand that adding a tune voids the warranty but I was wondering if I kept a backup of the factory ecu tune and flashed that on when I would be going to the dealership would they know that it has been tuned and still void the warranty? Also I am not completely set on the Ktuner I was also thinking of going with the Hondata tune instead if anyone has any opinion on that I would love to hear it.

I threw caution to the wind and went with KTuner V1.2 while under warranty. I don't quite trust people under the hood of my car (save for myself and pretty much 4 other individuals).
KTuner was better bang for buck ($200 cheaper; Same price for the V2 and you get a cool touchscreen interface). Before KTuner rolled out the updates and V1.2 and the KTuner App, it was a toss-up. Now, however, KTuner has all the bells and whistles Hondata had, and then some. There are also people saying that the maps on KTuner are smoother than Hondata, but I cannot attest to that. I'm running V1.2 with the KTuner app (all of $5) and I get real time bluetooth telemetry, datalogging, the ability to adjust maps as I see fit (though, I'm not experienced enough to even think about tinkering with them), and map switching via the app. You can store 5 tunes in the unit, and it takes about 5 minutes to switch from tune to tune.
They rolled out a software update a month ago that includes some new features:

I had a 2017 civic with a v2 ktuner. But never had any warranty issues with having it installed. I always reflashed back to factory before taking to service. I have the ktuner posted for sale of anyone interested. Great performance mod for the $$ and can always sell if you get rid of car.
