2002 Civic Manual Idling Rough/ Bogging

Car starts fine and after about 5-10 starts running very rough and almost dies but saves itself at the last second. Hitting the gas only makes the engine cut out and doesn’t do anything unless I floor it. It also will bog down while driving. I’ve cleaned the iacv and egr and loosely checked for vacuum leaks. I haven’t been doing much with this car so I don’t remember what all I tried before. PLEASE HELP

Sounds like a textbook vacuum leak to me. You make need a smoke machine to check more in-depth.

would you happen to know some common spots. I did some research and the carb or intake manifold is all i could think. Didn’t find any leaks when spraying carb cleaner around

Does it run better with the iac unplugged?

The car's more than 20 years old. The lines could just be degrading. Not saying that's what's happening but it's possible. If that's the case, you may need all new vacuum lines.

IACV is more likely though.

Both are possible. IACV is more likely than completely degraded vacuum lines, but I'm still leaning towards a vacuum leak.

The way you check function is by unplugging it and seeing if it runs better. Did you follow that up?
