I've been chasing and fixing coolant leaks on my 2004 Civic. I've replaced the thermostat, the bypass gasket, and a couple of cracked hoses, but now I need to replace the o-ring on the connector pipe that goes into the back of the water pump and I can't get it to pop out on the water pump end. I've gotten the large and small hoses off the thermostat end, and the 10mm bolt off the same end so it is loose enough to wiggle, but I cannot it get to pop out of the other end. I've pulled, I've wiggled it back and forth while pulling, and it won't pop out. Am I missing something holding it in? I can't see where ti's connected due to not wanting to take off the intake (again) because my forearms/hands are too fat to get to 2 of the fasteners needed to do so, and there's a metal cover under it that blocks the view from there.
Am I just being too gentle pulling, or am I missing something?
I'm pulling on part #6 in the diagram below in order to replace o-ring #8 (on the left).
