2004 VP Reverse Lights Do Not Come On [solved]
2004 VP Reverse Lights Do Not Come On [solved]
I checked the fuse 10 under the hood all the under dash fuse and I could not find out what the problem is. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

assuming bulbs and fuse are good, next thing I'd look at is the reverse switch/wiring (on the transmission)

BTW, this all of a sudden happened when I switched the dash from the VP dash to the LX dash. I wired it correctly, as all the lights come on when they should. I have an automatic.

OK, so why do some pictures show a gear selector light in the dash gauge assembly, and some don't? The pictures I have seen are for 03-05 LX vehicles, and some have the gear selector indicator light and some dont.

So when I switched the dash back to the original, one of the reverse lights worked. I think the other one is blown. The reverse parking system also came on. So that means that the new dash I put in, because it did not have a transmission gear indicator, did not light up the reverse lights because the new dash was from a manual car.

Sorry I dipped from this thread when I did. Yeah, AT clusters have gear shift indicators, MT does not. I didn't realize the cluster had input into reverse lights turning on. I wonder if you can bypass that.
