Full Synthetic jn new Honda???

My mechanic swears by full synthetic. In a new civic would it be best to use it from first oil change for life for better engine protection and wear? The dealer seems to reccomend a blend every 5K miles. I dont want to wait 3 hours at dealer for an oil change, and Im sure they wont put full synthetic in. I am thinking of just running full synthetic every 5K instead of the dealers synthetic blend.

Re: Full Synthetic jn new Honda???

Full synthetic is always best especially for modern engines.

Honda branded synthetic blend is very good oil though.
