2016 LX all dash warning lights on
Hi folks,
I've got a used '16 with roughly 80K miles on it, about 65K when I got it last September (it was a previous rental car but had a clean bill of health).
I have had zero problems with it and minor maintenance (oil change, tires, brakes). About 3 weeks ago I was leaving work and when I started the car, the dash lit up like Christmas. Every single warning light came on and the car wouldn't move. It wouldn't even go into gear. I wound up sleeping at work (would not recommend! LOL) and started it up the next morning. Same issue, but I was able to override (with a terrible lurching sound) and at least get it moving to the nearest mechanic a mile away. The speedometer didn't work and the car wouldn't accelerate much, but I made it.
Mechanic said everything was fine except the car's computer was "full of error codes" and had to be reset to factory default. He said he'd never seen anything like it, but everything checked out fine. Since all seemed well, I paid the $90 service fee and went on my way.
In addition to working 45 miles from home, I also Uber on the weekends. I have babied this car since I got it. I try not to excessively speed, brake early, all the good stuff.
Long story long, I went to run an errand before bed this evening, and the same thing with the dash happened again. The car isn't that old, and I had my last car for 12 years, 240k miles without this issue.
Trying not to freak out, but I have to work tomorrow. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Is this something I can reset on my own, at least until I can get to my regular mechanic? Obviously the one near work isn't an option.
I have searched all over google with no luck. Also checked these boards and didn't find anything.
Please help. Thanks.

Check you battery connections, you can disconnect the battery for 20 mins and that will reset the computer

Re: 2016 LX all dash warning lights on
what trim level? LX and sport (hatch, at least, not sure about the 19+ sport coupe/sedan) doesn't have the fancy infotainment/digital dash, and I've seen more issues with the fancy pants displays over the simpler ones.
I've had all the orange warning lights randomly come on a few times before, but they all went away without issue on their own. Haven't seen them light up like that in quite a while. I was chalking mine up to a loose negative cable from when I installed my HID relay harness.
