Rep Power: 0 Brakes on brand new grinding?
I leased a 2019 Civic CVT Sport three weeks ago. About a week ago, I started noticing the brakes grinding at low speeds, usually when I'm driving on surface streets or in stop and go traffic. It's a subtle grinding to be clear and I feel it (on the brake pedal) more than I hear it. Actually I only ever hear it when I'm backing out downhill from of my driveway early in the morning when it's really quiet out. The sound is by no means abrasive. Is this normal? Am I imagining things? It's my first new car so to be frank I'm not sure what new brakes are supposed to feel like. At the same time, I feel like they should be a bit smoother. Anyone experience anything similar?

It can be normal for new brakes to make noise at first but I have never driven a brand new car with new brakes only new brakes on an old car. After embedding them the noise goes away though. I would take it to the dealer and ask them. They might tell you it's normal and to do a few hard stops or pull it into the shop and inspect it.
