I heard Blizzaks aren't all that.. tire experts told me that they work well on ice, but not as well as traditional tires in snow or mud. Also, Blizzak's grip comes from compound coating, which actually wears off as times goes by. Traditional winter tires on the other hand depends on the actual tread design, and lasts until the tires go bald.

I had choice to buy Blizzak, but I decided not to. #1.. saved money. #2.. tires will last longer. #3.. better in snow, and it snows in Toronto. Like today. I'd get the traditional winter tires if I were you... I did, and I'm very happy with it. Have them on the old Corolla too.. it grips in snow & wet like crazy. And believe it or not, dry weather is not bad either. You'd be pleasantly surprised.

You non-English speaking FOB! Just kidding bud..

I got the traditional ones on.. actually, I took it for a spin tonight (despite the still broken side window).. there was lots of snow & slush to play on. Perfect time to test out the new BF Goodrich winter tires. I went to an empty parking lot, did some crazy manuvers.. and overall, I'm pretty impressed! To be totally honest, I think the Bridgestones on my Corolla was a bit better.. but it still bites hard, especially in slush. And the brake lock up was minimal (no ABS to boot), and there was no side way skidding, even under heavy braking, or hard acceleration.

Well wroth the $320!!

thats it? 320 foryour bridgestones?

cost me 488 for nokians.. i tested it once.. 'acuse that wsa the only time it rained.... and it didnt even snow since i got the tires..........
on one test.... in rainy conditions... the car slide to one side a bit.. but the road was bumpy also, that that might of been a factor. but i did it about four times...... it slide the last time i did, then i ran out of open road.

Hmm I've never even heard of Nokians.. sounds like a phone But yeah, I only paid $320 for the BF Goodrich (14's).. I paid less on the Bridgestones (13's).. but my neighbour runs the shop, so he always gives me a good deal. I know most people pay around what you paid for winter tires.. that's very normal.
