Got my K&N drop in filter

but i dont feel any difference...feel like the stock filter...oh well

haha.. what did you expect.

if K&N drop in was leaps better than stock... u know honda would have gone that route. there's virtually no drawbacks..

i guess i dont have to buy the oem filter ever again and just clean the K&N when it gets dirty.
and for performance gain i wasnt expecting a lot but i heard the car can rev smoother than before...but i dont notice the changes

hmm ... how difficult is it to clean? may be worth it just so I dont need to buy another OEM filter ... how much and where?

You're not going to feel any difference with a drop in. The only advantage is as you've mentioned is not having to replace the filter all the time.

The airflow technically is better than the stock filter, but you're not gonna see/hear a difference in stock configuration.

What we used to do is open up the airbox, and find a way to mount/attach the K&N drop in so it has an open air configuration. You can try that, you're gonna have to find a way to mount the filter with stuff like plastic ties or something.

I can't remember the airbox structure in our cars so it might not even be possible. We used to do it to the older generations of Civics. End result was similar but not quite up to a SRI, but it sounded nice though.

Cleaning it is easy. Just take it out and wash out the dirt with soap (or detergent) and water. Allow it to dry in the air and then lubricate it with the K&N solution.

You can buy complete K&N cleaning kits too.
