I am mad!.. not easy at all.

okay, asked ALOT of people regarding installing HU. thanks for the help BUT IT IS NOT easy!!!!!

whoever is going for a headunit. dont bother instalilng urself. get a shop to do it...

outcome of my 4 hours...

1. didn't have the right screw drivers, the 2 screws holding the the dash was extremely hard to reach with screw drivers and even though it was a phillip #1 screw. The screw driver was useless..

2. went to home depot for screw drivers, didn't fit. went to friends house... finally got a clamp.

3. top right corner of my dash is now bent up a bit. I tried it to rip the dash out with my fuill force.

4. u can't rip the dash out or push from the bottom.

5. i broke 3 of the 5 clips.. excellent

6. i lost 1 of the screws..

7. i got a nice 1 inch cut with skin missig on my hand...blood all over the dash.

5 people thought i was stealing the car. AND no one called the cops!...
proves how helpful people are eh.!..

DIY == BS. got nothing but pain!.

hmmm i hear ya. but i did DIY my deck (with the help of someone who knew what they were doing). and after a few hours, we even got it in. then it just took a little tweaking. and you can push it out from underneath. it's not THAT hard. haha. but i do understand. took me all night pretty much to do mine.

hey man...

no worries-if your a virgin at doing things... its always going to be HARD
but then again.... let one of us install it!! ehehe

its all good...
i noticed that the civic interior is alot of pain to get where u want to go, but my old 1st gen Neon
which was done up to the ****...... it took 5 mins for the dash to come off...

i miss that car... if i had that 2.0L DOHC Neon still, it would of been hitting mid 14's all motor right now
would i buy it again?? NOPE!

well Maybe!
sorry if OFF TOPIC!

the middle part??.. push up to towards me??? GOOOOD LUCK!...i tried that.. FULL FORCE..... it feels like it's gonna pop up but it never did.

the top clips + 2 of the sides didn't even move. i had to ues my hands and pull with all my body weight and the plastic just warped. the clip still held on pretty good.

so i have no idea how strong everyone is to simply PUSH to get it to pop out.

oh wellz.it's over. no more DIY...

I just installed my deck a couple of days ago for the first time ever. I had serious issues because I couldn't find out how to take my centre console apart but once I figured it out... it was a piece of cake. I bet it'll only take me about 10-15 mins to remove it again.

Hint: Don't use a phillips screwdriver to remove the two bolts holding the radio housing. Use a 11mm socket or wrench.

ya.. the 11mm wrench helped alot.... surprisingly, NO ONE told me that wen i asked on the other thread.
=(

would of saved me 1 hour.. had to go out and buy phillips. the last screw to the farthest right!.. i have no idea how some people are gonna get that out without a tool kit.
